HPC-Europa2 TAM tutorial: Advanced MPI
Message-passing interface (MPI) is still the parallel programming model on parallel computers of all scales. This tutorial will cover several advanced features of MPI that may help users program such machines and architectures effectively and enables higher level of programming. Topics to be covered include user-defined communicators and datatypes, process topologies, and more exotic communication modes. The aim is that the attendees will obtain from the tutorial an understanding of how to use these features of MPI and guidelines on how they might perform on different platforms and architectures.
This tutorial is part of the TAM2010 meeting of the HPC-Europa2 project.
